Helen Maclay:
Costume Technician, Designer, and Cosplayer
Helen Maclay has been working with costumes professionally and academically since 2014. They were lovingly thrown into this world during their sophomore year of high school and hasn't looked back. Currently, they are in their last year at Hamline University in Saint Paul Minnesota where they are studying Theatre Arts and Business Practice. This past semester has taken them to Nottingham Trent University in England where they got a chance to view costumes from a different perspective.​

Being science and arts-minded, costume work has developed into the perfect distillation of the two. Having a current focus on costume creation and sustainability has led to finding new areas where science and art can mix. Their goal is to develop what theatre, specifically costumes, will look like in the next 50 years as our world changes and we adapt to it.
